Before launching Work From Om® — an agency that delivers corporate yoga, meditation and mindfulness to businesses for their employees — Sarah spent nearly a decade in marketing communications, leading brand engagement initiatives for growing companies within tech and on Wall Street before starting her own consulting practice.
Like many others, Sarah found yoga and meditation out of necessity, seeking just a slice of weekly relief from the stress of living and working in the fast-paced, high-pressure world that is New York City.
Coming out of her first class, Sarah was taken aback by her own reluctance to check her cell phone, eager to preserve an unfamiliar but welcome feeling of presence, confidence and a freedom from the otherwise-constant demands of the outside world. Sarah continued to explore yoga, meditation and their philosophies with a passionate curiosity and soon became hooked, and not just for that famous “yoga high.”
Through the practices of mindfulness, meditation and thoughtful physical exercise, she noticed profound improvements in virtually every aspect of her life, from sleep and physical fitness to productivity, decision-making and personal relationships. Seeking to better understand these correlations, Sarah immersed herself in research and literature and found that not only were they valid, but that forward-thinking organizations were beginning to embrace yoga, meditation and mindfulness as means to happier, healthier, higher-functioning workplaces.
Inspired and rejuvenated, Sarah completed her yoga teacher training and launched Work From Om in 2014 with a mission to deliver the benefits to busy professionals one workplace at a time. Since then, Work From Om has helped over 100 companies in NYC enrich their wellness initiatives with yoga, meditation and mindfulness programs that stretch the body and the mind.
