Leader, Organizer, Educator, Facilitator, Coach, Change Agent and Truth Seeker, Tami Farber brings over 25 years of experience in the fields of Child and Youth Development and Education, Organizational Development and Leadership, Community Organizing and Systems Change work for the non-profit/non-governmental, public and private sectors globally.

Tami is driven by a vision and commitment for a healthy, thriving and just society. She is known for her engaging and impactful facilitation techniques, her high level skills and abilities to influence organizational and leadership change, a dynamic speaker and a life transforming coach.  

Tami currently serves as a Lead Associate for The Racing to Equity Consulting Group and Hooks Global Consulting Group centered on Leadership and Organizational Development to dismantle structural racial inequity and create equitable outcomes for all.  In addition, Tami is a certified Transformational Executive Coaching with a focus on working specifically with white women in leadership roles dedicated to the advancement of equity and justice and engaging in the personal work necessary to unearth, release and resist white body trauma.

Previously, Tami served as the Senior Director of Equity, Training and Development for Leadership Snohomish County with a primary role to provide organizational strategic direction and broader technical assistance to ensure the integration of equity principles and practices across key operational areas for organizations and institutions across sectors within the county and beyond.  Prior to this role Tami served in the role of Vice President of Equity, Advancement and Global Engagement for the YMCA of Snohomish County in addition to her consulting and coaching work. 

Tami spent over a decade centering her work on international development working for the United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF) and other international non-governmental organizations. She has spent extensive time living and working in numerous countries throughout East & Southern Africa, South Asia, Europe and Central and South America.

Tami has an extensive portfolio that has allowed her to work with organizations, agencies and institutions across the country, including public, private, charter and higher ed. educational systems, national non-profits such as Big Brothers Big Sisters, YWCA, YMCA, Boys and Girls Club and Jewish Community Centers, the corporate sector including Microsoft and other small businesses, local and state level Government Agencies and Foundations including United Way, Community Foundations and US Fund For UNICEF.  

The approach of Tami’s work is to generate a critical consciousness within your organization, school, company and/or personal life that can lead towards greater social change and a transformed society.  Her work is grounded in embodied, somatic and liberatory practices, is trauma informed and uses the integration of arts and movement and kinesthetic approaches to learning and development.  As a Transformational Executive Coach, she works with clients to unearth the Courage to live and lead from a different place. And Co-Create the life you love and the vision for the leader you want to be remembered as.

She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Long Island University-Global College and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Columbia University. She received her anti-racist training through the People’s Institute for Survival and Beyond and her Coaching Certification through Seattle Life Coach Training. Tami served as an adjunct faculty member of Hunter College School of Social Work and has provided numerous keynotes and presentations to schools of social work around the country and other national conferences.  Tami has served on many boards and advisory councils and has been recognized for her professional accomplishments and contributions to Global Human Rights Work and the field of Youth Development.
