MYCHAL ERTEL
FITNESS INSTRUCTOR, PERSONAL TRAINER

It all started in the ’80’s with a love affair for hip-hop and an extreme affinity for dancing “The Running Man.” From there it was an easy transition to star sprinter and hurdler for her Varsity Track Team.

Today, Mychal can be found raising her three (very amazing) daughters, or at any Equinox in Connecticut and Westchester County. She currently teaches a variety of classes at Equinox including cycle, treadmill walking and running classes, and main studio bootcamps.

In the after school hours when she is not schlepping one of her 3 kids to soccer or other activities, she whoops young tweens and teens into shape at Big Momma’s Bootcamp. BMBC (as referred to by those in the know) is a circuit class employing body weight-bearing exercises, cardio fitness, agility drills, resistance training with tubes and bands, cup ropes, bosu balls and physio balls (basically any fun tool to get the body moving).

In all of her classes, Mychal focuses on instilling confidence, strength and empowerment…and of course having a blast while doing it all to the beat of great tunes! At Campowerment, she’ll be infusing all that into Bootcamps and Spin Classes. Following Mychal’s contagious spirit, the words of wisdom she infuses while training, and her motivating playlists (we’ll admit: she’s successfully intervened at a couple of Campowerment dance parties), it’s hard to *not* get in the zone.
