- How long are camp retreats for women?
Four days, three nights. Each retreat runs the course of a long weekend (Thurs-Sun or Fri-Mon), beginning ~2PM on arrival day, wrapping at ~12:30PM on departure day.
- What is a typical day like at a camp retreat for women?
Days run from as early as the 7 o’clock hour each morning to as late as 11 p.m. each night, with a choose-your-own-adventure policy from wake up to sleeptime. Early riser? Night owl? There’s programming for all. Check out a sample schedule here!
- Who goes to Campowerment’s retreats for women?
Our campers range in age from 21* to 83 (for real) and they take planes, trains & automobiles from all ends of the globe (U.S., Canada, UK, France, Australia, New Zealand). About 54% of them are repeat campers; 46% are first-timers.
Some are top Hollywood executives; others recent college grads; USPS employees; entrepreneurs; police officers; thrill-seekers; full-time moms; first-time managers; bloggers and beyond.
Actually, it’s kind of the best networking on the planet: because nobody** is allowed to say what she does for a living for the first 24 hours, so we get real personal, real quick! Will you fit in? Yes: promise.
*All campers must be 21 of age or older
**Except the experts - Can I come alone?
Absolutely! And about 20% do. When you come solo, we bunk you with the other brave souls who are doing the same, and it’s a hoot!
- What are the sleeping accommodations like at Campowerment’s camp retreats?
The classic bunk space grants you a spot in a cabin alongside up to 8-12 other women. All cabins offer bunk beds. Each bed’s made and awaiting your arrival. All bunks have in-bunk bathrooms and electricity. Options to upgrade to semi-private and private rooms available during registration.
- Can I bunk with my friends?
Absolutely. Request bunkmates at registration, or email info@campowerment.com to make requests up until 2 weeks prior to your retreat’s start date.
- What should I pack?
If you’re asking about attire, anything goes! We invite and encourage comfy clothes, athleisure and — oh yes — costumes for a featured night activity. We provide a packing list upon registration in a Resource Hub you have access to from registration thru camp!
- Do you offer scholarships or financial assistance?
Campowerment’s sister 501(c)(3) non-profit Give Her Camp sends exemplary women to Campowerment women’s experiences on scholarship. It’s funded by the Campowerment community and open for applications/nominations all year. See more here.
- Is there cell service? WiFi?
Both cell service and WiFi exist, but can be spotty…and you shouldn’t need ‘em much. Disconnection while at camp is good for the soul.
We ask that you keep all phones on silent throughout the retreat. Use as your alarm in the morning and to tell time in the day (we’ll help), but please: no phone use in the presence of others. Upon registration, you’ll receive an emergency contact number to share with loved ones, and should you really need to dial-out, we can hook you up with a landline on site.
