Melody is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist as well as a Child Mental Health Specialist.   She counsels individuals, adolescents and families and helps them manage emotions and behaviors associated with trauma, stress, shame, depression, racism, infertility, low self-esteem and abuse.  In addition to private practice, Melody conducts mental health evaluations in the emergency room at Seattle Children’s Hospital.  She also provides therapy in schools to students in crisis. Melody utilizes personal experiences as well as intensive training in trauma to help a multitude of communities become healthy, positive and productive.  

Melody is originally from Texas and moved to Washington in 2013 after spending 12 years working as a television producer and director in Los Angeles.  She took a break from production to complete graduate coursework in Clinical Psychology. Melody is a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists as well as the Producers Guild of America.  Melody is a frequent guest on podcasts as well as motivational speaker speaking on topics such as self-care, effects of childhood trauma, creating and maintaining boundaries and suicidal ideation.
