Camp Retreats for Women
  • Where do the camp retreats for women take place?

We rent and call home to some of the finest kids’ summer camp locations on both East and West Coasts. All locales are within 2 hours of a major airport, just far enough to feel tucked away in nature!

  • What is a typical day like at a camp retreat for women?

Days run from as early as the 7 o’clock hour each morning to as late as 11 p.m. each night, with a choose-your-own-adventure policy from wake up to sleeptime. Early riser? Night owl? There’s programming for all. Check out a sample schedule here!

  • Who goes to Campowerment’s camp retreats for women?

Our campers range in age from 21* to 83 (for real) and they take planes, trains & automobiles from all ends of the globe (U.S., Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand). About 45% of them are repeat campers; 55% are first-timers.

Some are top Hollywood executives; others recent college grads; USPS employees; entrepreneurs; police officers; thrill-seekers; full-time moms; first-time managers; bloggers and beyond.

Actually, it’s kind of the best networking on the planet: because nobody** is allowed to say what she does for a living for the first 24 hours, so we get real personal, real quick! Will you fit in? Yes: promise.

*All campers must be 21 of age or older
    **Except the experts

  • Can I come alone?

Absolutely! And about 20% do. When you come solo, we bunk you with the other brave souls who are doing the same, and it’s a hoot!

  • How many women typically attend Campowerment’s camp retreats for women?

    A tribe ~150 deep!

  • What are the sleeping accommodations like at Campowerment’s camp retreats?

The classic bunk space grants you a spot in a cabin alongside up to 10-12 other women. At some locations (i.e. Ojai, CA), you have the option to upgrade from a cabin to a semi-private room (1 roomie for $250/night. Details in registration!). All cabins have in-bunk bathrooms, electricity, plugs for charging, and the comforts you need to thrive at your retreat.

  • Can I bunk with my friends?

Absolutely. Request bunkmates at registration, or email info@campowerment.com to make requests up until 1 week prior to your retreat’s start date.

  • What should I pack?

If you’re asking about attire, anything goes! We invite and encourage comfy clothes, athleisure and — oh yes — costumes for a featured night activity. In detail, you can download our packing list here.

  • What is the investment in a camp retreat, and what is included?

  • Do you offer payment plans?

Yes, we offer a 3-part-payment plan that’s available until 30 days prior to a respective women’s weekend. All payment plans divide the cost of camp by three, and incur a 3% service charge per payment.

Part 1 is paid immediately upon registration, part 2 one month later, part 3 two months after the first payment. Payment plans are non-refundable or transferable.

  • Do you offer scholarships or financial assistance?

Campowerment’s sister 501(c)(3) non-profit Give Her Camp sends exemplary women to Campowerment women’s experiences on scholarship. It’s funded by the Campowerment community and open for applications/nominations all year. See more here.

  • How is the food?

Food is a big deal for this Campowerment crew. You can expect yummy eats, with accommodations for every dietary restriction you ask us to work around. No: sloppy joe’s; yes: deluxe salad bar. Also yes: s’mores and home-baked desserts.

  • Can I bring my own food?

No outside food, please. We rent kids’ summer camp locations that tend to all kinds of allergies and require high standards for care and consideration. If you have a unique circumstance regarding food and diet, please reach out to info@campowerment.com, and we’ll talk through what options are best.

  • Is there cell service? WiFi?

Both cell service and WiFi exist, but can be spotty…and you shouldn’t need ‘em too much. Disconnection while at camp is good for the soul.

We ask that you keep all phones on silent throughout the retreat. Use as your alarm in the morning and to tell time in the day (we’ll help), but please: no phone use in the presence of others. Upon registration, you’ll receive an emergency contact number to share with loved ones, and should you really need to dial-out, we can hook you up with a landline on site.

Staff + Leadership
  • How can I become a Campowerment expert?

If you, too, are a thought-leader with something to share with this community, and you have the experience and cred to back it up, we’d love to hear from you. Share your info here, or reach out to info@campowerment.com to let us know more about you.

  • What does it mean to be a Campowerment expert?

Campowerment experts deliver perspective-shifting programming within Campowerment experiences. They lead workshops with tangible takeaways and facilitate Circles to inspire aha moments. Campowerment experts are authors, speakers, professors, clinicians, entrepreneurs, doctors, consultants, and most importantly are committed to sharing their wisdom to equip others to re-ignite their results, in any area of life.

  • How can I become a Campower Ranger?

Reach out to lea@campowerment.com if you’re interested in being a Campower Ranger at any of our camp experiences for women or for business.

  • What is a Campower Ranger?

Know how summer camps thoughtfully tap their counselors to not only do the heavy lifting it takes to run a live experience, but also to do it with love? So do we! In short, Campower Rangers = camp counselors. They’re a mixed bag of ages (we think that multi-generational element is part of the special sauce); and they’re fully invested in getting and giving the most out of every experience in which they take part (camp and otherwise).

Scholarships
  • Is my donation tax-deductible?

Sure is! As a 501(c)(3), Give Her Camp is registered as a nonprofit entity (FEIN: 81-1407528). Should you choose to donate, the gals at Give Her Camp will send you a downloadable form you may submit to the IRS.

  • To what is my donation applied?

A deserving woman’s time at a Campowerment experience for women. Give Her Camp’s overhead costs are very minimal, covering only what it takes to file tax forms and stay on the scene. Outside of legal and accounting, all services rendered to date have been/are pro-bono.

  • What is required of a scholarship recipient?

With the acceptance of a scholarship, every nominee agrees to share the story of how/why she was chosen AND the story of her experience at camp with the community at-large. This means she’s game to write a blog post and provide testimonials to be featured in the organization’s media (videos, pictures, website, etc.).

  • When do you pick who will be granted a scholarship?

Recipients are notified by early fall each year, and we recommend soft-holding dates until then! If your application or nomination are not awarded a scholarship, you will be notified along the same schedule.

  • How do you choose who will be granted a scholarship?

Give Her Camp’s board of directors — comprised of power players in philanthropy, international media, travel, and female empowerment — meets quarterly to review the nominees’ stories and vote on who will become scholarship recipients for upcoming women’s camp experiences.

  • Can I direct my donation towards one recipient?

If you’re looking to sponsor a specific camper, full sponsorship opportunities do exist. Reach out to info@campowerment.com to learn more.

  • What are the qualities of an ideal scholarship recipient?

Any woman who seeks insight, connection and/or new beginnings and exhibits extraordinary generosity, bravery, compassion, or ambition, among other exemplary traits, would be a strong nominee.

  • How do I apply for/nominate someone for a scholarship to a Campowerment’s camp retreat for women?

  • What kind of rules do campers live by?

We don’t have many rules, so the ones we have we take very seriously:
    – 24-hour rule: No saying what you do for a living for the first 24 hours. This allows us to get to know each other for who we are instead of what we do.
    – Vegas rule: What happens in the Circle stays in the Circle.
    – Substances: We’re at Campowerment to be free-spirited, clear-headed, and the best version of ourselves. Since drinking creates fog and diminishes presence, we limit it.
    – No outside alcohol is permitted. No any other substances, either. If we find it or hear about it, we confiscate it and we send you home. (No kidding.)
    – Smoking: We prefer no smoking at all, since we’re in the woods (and have some past concerns because of fires…), but if you smoke cigarettes, you may do so in the designated area at each camp. Absolutely no smoking marijuana or any psychoactive substances; no vape pens; no Jules.
    – Be nice to each other

  • Is there alcohol at Campowerment?

At one designated happy hour, as serve wine for your enjoyment, bartended by our crew. All are invited and permitted to have 2 drinks. While the other nights at camp we won’t be serving drinks at “Appy Hour.” We offer a beautiful spread of delicious apps. No outside alcohol is permitted.

  • What if I get sick at camp?

We pride ourselves on attention to details that care for the community at-large, but we’ll look to YOU to take care of what YOU need: from mind to soul to body. There will be no medical staff on the premises, so it’s important that you bring what you need to tend to your medical and hygiene routine. All camp locations are within 30 minutes of a reputable hospital or medical center.

  • Are pets allowed? Are kids allowed?

    Nope! Neither.
