Camp Retreats for Women
  • Experience: Am I able to speak to someone at Campowerment to learn more?

Definitely! Give us a call at 818-396-7556 -or- schedule a call HERE. Prefer simply writing in? Works for us – do so HERE. Our Campowerment Crew is here (and happy) to meet you where you are in your process 😊

  • Food & Bev: What’s the food like at a Classic Camp?

For us, fresh food is a big deal! At camp, we offer fresh food, prepared daily and suited for all dietary preferences you share in registration. For each meal – served buffet-style – there are protein options, something for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free eaters who give us the heads up to be ready for you!

Each meal is paired with a full salad bar and yummy dessert, too. Plus – in addition to meals, there are snacks and coffee/tea available throughout the full retreat.

Should you crave a highly specific addition to a meal-based diet (i.e. you are a soda drinker and don’t want to go the weekend without a daily Diet Coke), please feel free to BYO. Have questions? Reach out to us at info@campowerment.com

  • People: Who goes to Campowerment’s retreats for women?

Our campers range in age from 21* to 83 (for real) and they take planes, trains & automobiles from all ends of the globe (U.S., Canada, UK, France, Australia, New Zealand). About 54% of them are repeat campers; 46% are first-timers.

Some are top Hollywood executives; others recent college grads; USPS employees; entrepreneurs; police officers; thrill-seekers; full-time moms; first-time managers; bloggers and beyond.

Actually, it’s kind of the best networking on the planet: because nobody** is allowed to say what she does for a living for the first 24 hours, so we get real personal, real quick! Will you fit in? Yes: promise.

*All campers must be 21 of age or older
    **Except the experts

  • People: Can I come alone?

Absolutely! And about 20% do. When you come solo, we bunk you with the other brave souls who are doing the same, and it’s a hoot!

  • How many women typically attend Campowerment’s Classic Camps?

    ~150-200!

  • Accommodations: What are the sleeping accommodations like at Classic Camp?

Your “bunk space” grants you made-up bed in a cabin alongside up to 8-12 other women. All cabins offer bunk beds, with linens and towels awaiting your arrival. All bunks have in-bunk bathrooms and electricity.

If bunking’s not your jam, we also offer the opportunity for you to upgrade to a semi-private room (with 1-2 others – your choice) for $375pp; or a private, hotel-style room with private bath for $750. Both are available during registration, and up until 1 week prior to each retreat.

  • People: Can I bunk with my friends?

Absolutely. Request bunkmates at registration, or email info@campowerment.com to make requests up until 2 weeks prior to your retreat’s start date.

  • Logistics: What should I pack?

As far as attire, anything goes! We invite and encourage comfy clothes, athleisure and — oh yes — costumes for a featured night activity. We provide a packing list upon registration, and make sure to share everything you might want to have or need.

  • What is the investment in a camp retreat, and what is included?

Your $1,799 investment translates to your transformation, via a strategically designed program that combines insight, connection and a kick-start to new beginnings. And it’s all powered by play.

Specifically, your “bunk space” grants you:

    • 4 days (3 nights) at a naturally beautiful, 63-year-old, tradition-rich facility
    • 9 meals: Meals that cater to all dietary needs, plus snacks and coffee/tea all day every day
    • Programming options (for you to choose your own adventure) from morning ’til night
    • Access to renowned experts who equip you to shrink the gap between where you are + where you want to be
    • Fitness & adventure, dance & movement, like whoa with the pros
    • Fun & games to unite a community at the edge of the comfort zone
    • Happy hours with gourmet food & wine
    • Bunk accommodations in a cabin with up to 12 women. In-bunk bathrooms for all
    • Linens: sheets, pillow, blankets, towels
    • Incredible friendships; and the opportunity to re-ignite your life (for real)!
  • Do you offer payment plans?

Yes, we offer a 3-part-payment plan that’s available until 30 days prior to a respective retreat. All payment plans divide the cost of camp by three, and incur a 4% service charge per payment.

Part 1 is paid immediately upon registration, part 2 one month later, part 3 two months after the first payment. Payment plans are non-refundable or transferable. More information here.

  • Logistics: Do you offer scholarships or financial assistance?

Campowerment’s sister 501(c)(3) non-profit Give Her Camp sends exemplary women to Campowerment women’s experiences on scholarship. It’s funded by the Campowerment community and open for applications/nominations all year. See more here.

  • Can I bring my own food?

No outside food, please. We rent kids’ summer camp locations that tend to all kinds of allergies and require high standards of care and consideration. If you have a unique circumstance regarding food and diet, please reach out to info@campowerment.com, and we’ll talk through what options are best.

  • Logistics: Is there cell service? WiFi?

Both cell service and WiFi exist, and are usually pretty good but can be spotty…and you shouldn’t need ‘em much. (Disconnection while at camp is good for the soul.)

We ask that you keep all phones on silent throughout the retreat. Use as your alarm in the morning and to tell time in the day (we’ll help), but please: no phone use in the presence of others. Your loved ones back at home can leverage info@campowerment.com for anything they need if for any reason they can’t reach you…and should you need to dial-out but have a challenge doing so, we can hook you up with a phone to make it happen!

Staff + Leadership
  • How can I become a Campowerment expert?

If you, too, are a thought-leader with something to share with this community, and you have the experience and cred to back it up, we’d love to hear from you. Share your info here, or reach out to info@campowerment.com to let us know more about you.

  • What does it mean to be a Campowerment expert?

Campowerment experts deliver perspective-shifting programming within Campowerment experiences. They lead workshops with tangible takeaways and facilitate Circles to inspire aha moments. Campowerment experts are authors, speakers, professors, clinicians, entrepreneurs, doctors, consultants, and most importantly are committed to sharing their wisdom to equip others to re-ignite their results, in any area of life.

  • What is a Campower Ranger?

Know how summer camps thoughtfully tap their counselors to not only do the heavy lifting it takes to run a live experience, but also to do it with love? So do we! In short, Campower Rangers = camp counselors. They’re a mixed bag of ages (we think that multi-generational element is part of the special sauce); and they’re fully invested in getting and giving the most out of every experience in which they take part (camp and otherwise).

Scholarships
  • Is my donation tax-deductible?

Sure is! As a 501(c)(3), Give Her Camp is registered as a nonprofit entity (FEIN: 81-1407528). Should you choose to donate, the gals at Give Her Camp will send you a downloadable form you may submit to the IRS.

  • To what is my donation applied?

An extraordinary woman’s life-affirming weekend at a Campowerment Classic Camp, with small stipends reserved for travel support for the nominees that require it. Less than 1% of Give Her Camp’s costs are allocated to anything outside of that, as all services (outside of gov’t filings, legal and accounting) are rendered pro-bono.

  • What is required of a scholarship recipient?

With the acceptance of a scholarship, every nominee agrees to share the story of how/why she was chosen AND the story of her experience at camp with the community at-large. This means she’s game to write a blog post, be video-interviewed and provide testimonials to be featured in the organization’s media (videos, pictures, website, etc.).

  • When do you pick who will be granted a scholarship?

Give Her Camp’s board of directors reviews and deliberates on scholarship nominations on a rolling basis. Scholarship recipients are notified no later than August of each year, and we recommend soft-holding dates until then! If your application or nomination does not lead to a scholarship for your nominee/applicant, you will be notified along the same schedule.

  • How do you choose who will be granted a scholarship?

Give Her Camp’s board of directors — comprised of power players in women’s empowerment, international media, fundraising in education, technology consulting and entertainment — meets quarterly to review the nominees’ stories and vote on who will become scholarship recipients for upcoming Classic Camps. We do so thoughtfully and in full consideration of all nominations/applications, anonymized, relative to scholarship criteria.

  • Can I direct my donation towards one recipient?

If you’re looking to sponsor a specific camper, full sponsorship opportunities do exist. Reach out to info@campowerment.com to inquire.

  • What are the qualities of an ideal scholarship recipient?

Give Her Camp elevates women who..

    • || Are kind, optimistic and driven by purpose
    • || Are already on a journey of self-growth
    • || Are committed to sharing what they glean from camp to help others in their community
    • || Bring a diversity of experience, race or ethnicity
    • || Without scholarship, would not otherwise be able to afford this program
*We intend for the term “women” to include any who identify with the feminine experience
  • How do I nominate someone/apply for a scholarship to a Campowerment’s Classic Camp?

You can nominate someone and/or apply for a scholarship via Give Her Camp, here.

Terms and Conditions
  • If I’m unable to attend, can I transfer bunk space to another camp retreat?

See our terms + conditions here for the cancellation/transfer policy.

  • Can I register someone else (my partner, friend, relative) for a Campowerment retreat?

Ultimately in order for a registration to be final and official, the camper who will attend/participate in any given experience MUST self-register with Campowerment. But we can work together to gift or surprise someone in your life. If you’re looking to do this please reach out to info@campowerment.com.

  • What kind of rules do campers live by?

We don’t have many rules, so the ones we have we take very seriously:
    – 24-hour rule: No saying what you do for a living for the first 24 hours. This allows us to get to know each other for who we are instead of what we do.
    – Vegas rule: What happens in the Circle stays in the Circle.
    – Substances: We’re at Campowerment to be free-spirited, clear-headed, and the best version of ourselves. Since drinking creates fog and diminishes presence, we limit it.
    – No outside alcohol is permitted. No any other substances, either. If we find it or hear about it, we confiscate it and we send you home. (No kidding.)
    – Smoking: We prefer no smoking at all, since we’re in the woods (and have some past concerns because of fires…), but if you smoke cigarettes, you may do so in the designated area at each camp. Absolutely no smoking marijuana or any psychoactive substances; no vape pens; no Jules.
    – Be nice to each other

  • Is there alcohol at Campowerment?

At a daily designated happy hour, we serve wine & appetizers, bartended by our crew. All are invited and permitted to have 2 drinks. No outside alcohol is permitted.

  • What if I get sick at camp?

There will be no medical staff on the premises, so it’s important that you bring what you need to tend to your medical and hygiene routine. All camp locations are within 30 minutes of a reputable hospital or medical center.

  • Are pets allowed? Are kids allowed?

    Nope! Neither.
