Grandy’s Book Club (Finally)!

by Chelsea Leader Gold
 ∙ Mar 3 ∙ 2 Min Read

Finally! Joan “Grandy” Leader, Tammi’s mom/Chelsea’s grandma and Campowerment’s late Co-Founder (aka Good Will Ambassador) wanted to do this for years, and it took her dear friend and fellow Bibliophile Cathy Mudd to inspire us to make it happen NOW!

First meeting: March 14!! Reviewing “Release,” by Peggy Fitzsimmons, who will be joining us for chats!

Introducing…Grandy’s Book Club…

…a gathering you can count on, the second Sunday of every month at 2pm EST/11am PST!

Books will be shared 2 months ahead from here on out. Each month, we’ll read the book ahead of gathering, and come prepared to discuss it. Bring your thoughts on this book, and ideas for what we may want to read in the months to come!

S’more deets on the first-ever book club meeting, here

No commitment required. You can pop in one month, opt out the next and come back when you’re wanting s’more book-loving connection!

We have our first two books chosen:

– To meet March 14: Release, by Peggy Fitzsimmons
Featuring a guest — the author herself

Grandy & Peggy Fitzsimmons

– To meet April 11: Small Great Things, by Jodi Picoult
Because it’s a relevant piece on race relations and our role in perpetuating the system, and because Cathy – book club captain – says:

“It’s the book that brought Grandy and I closer and I’d enjoy honoring that.”

As a group in March, we’ll choose what to read in May, either from Grandy’s list of her all-time favorite books or elsewhere!

Join us March 14!

No commitment required. You can pop in one month, opt out the next and come back when you’re wanting s’more book-loving connection!

And if you’re not yet a member, you can make it a happen of your 2-week free trial!
