Each month we highlight the accomplishments of a few members of this community, and this month we’ve got quite the lineup. From master’s degrees, new jobs and a new book?! Get on your feet for a standing O!

Let’s jump in with snaps as:

We met La’Shea at camp in 2022 thanks to Give Her Camp (nominate here). Last month she earned a master’s degree and graduate certificate in creativity and change leadership while working as the administrative assistant in the Higher Education Administration Department at Buffalo State. Beyond that, La’Shea was asked to speak at her commencement ceremony on behalf of the School of Professions and received the Buffalo State President’s Medal!

La’Shea decided to return to school for her master’s degree after her job lost her (those are her brilliant words) in 2021. From being a community and youth advocate, sitting on the board of directors for 7 committees(!!!), and receiving multiple fellowships and awards, La’Shea did it all while being a mom of 3. You can read more about La’Shea’s seemingly endless credits here.

La’Shea says “Never let anyone place a period, where God has placed a comma in your life.” Congrats on this incredible achievement!!

Alicia Dunam’s new book, called “How to Talk to Your Enemies: 101+ Ways to Turn Hostility Into Peace” is OUT and you can even read the first chapter HERE

Alicia’s been teaching the Campowerment community how to talk to our enemies – and those whose views may differ from ours – for quite some time. (Including her session last month on!) If you missed her session, don’t fret! She’s a frequent fan fav so keep an eye out for her on the schedule

Alicia is even going around on a Summer of Peace tour and hit Washington D.C.! ⬇️

Alicia’s goal is to send a copy of her book to every member of the US Congress. She says “By making a $40 donation, you not only contribute to this initiative but also receive an autographed copy of the book as a token of my gratitude. Your donation will play a vital role in promoting empathy and understanding in the political arena.” If that interests you, you can contribute to Alicia’s GoFundMe Campaign here.

After moving up the ranks at Stitch Fix, Quince and a period of self-employment, Carla has found her next chapter as the Chief Product Officer of Orvis!

About this accomplishment Carla shares, “I am both honored and humbled to be asked to lead the Product Team at Orvis. As I reflected about what I wanted to do for my next chapter, I dreamt of finding an authentic outdoor, truly purpose-driven brand with a great culture. I wanted to find a place where I can truly love what I do, and where my favorite skills are valued. To have the opportunity to lead, coach and mentor a large and diverse team to create beautiful products that honor the Orvis heritage and credibility is such a thrill.

All of this started with my Campowerment journey. It was at camp years ago that I peeled back the layers around what I am good at, what I love to do, and created a clear dream of what could become of my future. Thank you, thank you to my Campowerment sisters and experts.”

Are YOU ready to peel back those layers? Join us online or IRL this fall and see how you can be living into your fullest potential. Cause anything beyond that just ain’t gonna cut it.
