The Campowerment Crew is psyched to introduce two new chicks who knock our socks off. Fam: meet Alli and Laura, our two camp lovin’, creative thinkin’ summer interns!
From now ’til late August, Chelsea and Lea in our NY digs get the pleasure of bunking with these two, as they hash out big plans for marketing and magic-making on behalf of Campowerment.
Hey! I’m Laura Conn
Camp cred: Tripp Lake Camp, ’04-’11
MVP at: Having a good time, having a good time… don’t wanna stop at all
The most Expert insight I hold on to: Slow down, take a breath and put things in perspective
#HumbleBrag alert…I’m an Expert at: Dancing and being silly with my friends
My karaoke jam: Lately my go-to has been “Party in the USA” by Miley Cyrus, but I am starting to learn that while I may know all the words to the song, some of the notes are just getting way too hard and awkward to hit…
20 years from now I hope that the world: Will be accepting of all differences and able to find the good in all people
I just have to tell you: It is always worth it to push yourself out of your comfort zone and try new things. No matter what your age is, something good will always come out of being uncomfortable…whether you realize it or not!
What’s up?! I’m Alli Romanski
Camp cred: Young Life Lake Champion
The most Expert insight I hold on to: Don’t be afraid to act silly. Life’s a party and there’s no reason not to enjoy it
#HumbleBrag alert…I’m an Expert at: Being happy!
My karaoke jam: “All the Small Things” by Blink-182
MVP at: Swimming. Just keep swimming, just keep swimming…
20 years from now I hope that the world: Will be full of people who put aside our differences and use our collective brainpower to live more peacefully and sustainably
I just have to tell you: The key to roasting a perfect marshmallow is to not let it burn, but let the outside get a perfect a golden brown, so the inside is warm and gooey
And there you have it. Keep an eye out for these two; they’re good ones, and we’re so, so excited for the pleasure of making some space in our teeny office for the BIG footprints they’ll leave on Campowerment.
Come back to the blog each week to catch their chronicles of life as an intern for this funky movement we’re building. Summer ’16: bring it!
